Free-ing music Friday
If you’ve followed this blog awhile, you know occasionally I like to post songs that I find healing, uplifting and hopeful. Here are a couple they’ve played at my church lately that have knocked my broken socks right off. Hope you enjoy them, too.
The first song is Running Back to You, by Heather Headley. The second is Beautiful Things by Gungor.
Praise God, we can run back to Him and He makes beautiful things out of our dust!
Free-ing music for Good Friday
I grew up listening to–and trying very hard to sing just like–Sandi Patty. For your Good Friday, I’ve linked to a couple of my Easter favorites of hers. The words and music are still so powerful–if you can get past the 80′s hair and sets, lol! (Sandi–bless your heart, we all looked like that back then!)
HereĀ is Via Dolorosa, followed by Morning Like This, by Sandi Patty.
“Over and over in a never-endingĀ round . . . He is risen . . . alleluia . . . Hallelujah!”
Free-ing music Friday: Blackbird. The Beatles. Love it.
Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
Black bird singing in the dead of night
Take these sunken eyes and learn to see all your life
you were only waiting for this moment to be free
Blackbird fly, Blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night.
Blackbird fly, Blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night.
Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise,
You were only waiting for this moment to arise,
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
~The Beatles~
