I’m wearing denim today.

For little girls who never had a chance.

For little girls who had a chance, but it was stolen.

For big girls, with even bigger broken hearts.

For women, with broken spirits.

I’m wearing denim today.

Because one out of every three women knows what it feels like to have a bit of innocence stolen . . .

. . . to have their lives forever changed because someone took what never belonged to them . . .

. . . to be afraid of  night instead of breathing in the cool freedom of an evening sunset.

I’m wearing denim today.

For Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

For your sister.

For your mother.

For your daughter.

For your wife.

For you.

Won’t you join me?

Who will you wear denim for today?

  5. I saw your button on Katdish’s blog and came over here & read a few of your posts. I love what I read, and now will see if you have a follow button.
I am writing a book on gardening and saw your post about your book, and some of the books in the photo are garden books.
    What is your book about?
And yes, I am wearing denim.
