  • Oh, my, Amy. That was so moving and beautiful and heartbreaking and encouraging and inspiring! It was all of those things and more! I can’t imagine never feeling “special” before b/c each of those people seemed pretty special to me. I’m just sorry they might not have felt it like I saw them. Does that make sense? Thank you for sharing that.

  • Heather, that makes total sense. I felt/feel the same way. You should’ve seen the astonished looks on even my kids’ faces when they realized the one gentleman had never been photographed except for jail . . . it’s amazing how little it takes–and what pitifully little I do–to love someone like Jesus loves. Whether foot washings or make-up or photographs. Wow.
